A hectic session all around for the feeling of actions
US futures are returning to stable levels as we wait for North American traders to enter after what was a somewhat hectic session in European morning trading.
E-minis started the session with nascent optimism, achieving gains of 1% before turning their heads quickly when the European spot market opened. The downturn declined by about 0.5% before seeing losses decline slightly in the past hour.
Walmart’s first quarter profits exceeded expectations (EPS, revenue, comps) and this somewhat helps to keep the mood of retailers / consumers in a better position before the upcoming session.
The major currencies continue to consolidate their gains against the dollar and the yen for the most part, with a riskier mood to date.
