G7 finance executives held a conference call Wednesday to discuss responses to the coronaviruses, Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso said, according to Reuters.
“The G7 finance ministers discussed debt problems in developing countries,” added Aso and reiterated that Japan would cooperate with the G7 to contain the new virus and achieve Japanese and global economic recovery.
These comments have been largely ignored by market players. At the time of writing, the USD / JPY lost 0.07% on the day to 108.60. At the same time, the futures of the S&P 500 increased by 0.6%.
