PARIS (Reuters) – The French government will insist on the preservation of the Renault (RENA.PA) “Production facilities are in France and you want to stay there, is the group’s worldwide centre for engineering, research, innovation and development, the Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe said on Tuesday.
Speaking in the Senate, he said, the government was particularly concerned about the retention of the Flins plant.
The French carmaker has just sealed a deal with the banks on a 5-billion-to help euro ($5.5 billion) state-guaranteed loans to cope with the corona-virus outbreak, two sources close to the matter told Reuters on Tuesday.
